As heavy-duty machinery, industrial crushers endure immense stress and friction during operation; therefore, scientific and standardized lubrication is essential for ensuring smooth performance and extending service life. Lubrication involves four key aspects:
Selecting the appropriate lubricant based on specific equipment components and operating conditions is crucial. High-quality lubricating oil is typically required for core components-such as main shaft bearings and eccentric bearings-to form a thin oil film that minimizes friction. Conversely, semi-solid greases with strong adhesion are better suited for joints and connecting rods that operate under high loads and low speeds, or where oil leakage is a concern. Additionally, lubricant viscosity should be adjusted according to seasonal climate changes-using higher-viscosity oil in summer and lower-viscosity oil in winter-to ensure optimal lubrication.
Lubrication tasks must follow strict, standardized protocols. Before applying fresh oil or grease, lubrication points (such as bearing raceways) must be cleaned with clean kerosene or gasoline to thoroughly remove contaminants like dust and old sludge. When applying grease, the bearing housing should generally be filled to about half its capacity; both over-lubrication and under-lubrication are detrimental. For large industrial crushers equipped with forced lubrication systems, the lubrication system must be electrically interlocked with the main machine; this ensures the oil pump starts before the crusher, guaranteeing clear oil flow prior to operation.
Real-time monitoring of the lubrication system during equipment operation is indispensable. Operators must closely track key parameters such as lubricant temperature, pressure, and flow rate. Simultaneously, lubrication pipelines should be inspected regularly for leaks, and return-oil filters checked frequently; any unusual debris must be cleared promptly to prevent contaminants from entering the oil tank and compromising the lubricating film.
Establishing a long-term oil maintenance plan is an effective strategy for preventing equipment failure. Lubricating oil should be sampled and analyzed at scheduled intervals to monitor parameters such as viscosity, water content, oxidation levels, and mechanical wear particle counts, enabling the early detection of potential internal wear. If severe oil degradation is detected or the scheduled replacement interval is reached, the oil must be changed immediately, and the filter element cleaned or replaced concurrently, ensuring the industrial crushers consistently operate in optimal condition.
