What is a shredder?

A shredder is a machine used for coarse crushing, including various types such as spiral shredders, twin-shaft shredders, multi-functional shredders, tire shredders, and wood shredders. This equipment is generally used to process unprocessed raw materials or scraps, making them smaller in size, and is widely used in various fields such as municipal solid waste sorting, metal recycling, and biomass power generation. Some manufacturers have obtained relevant international certifications and technology patents.

Compared with other crushers, shredders are characterized by low cutter shaft speed, low noise, and low energy consumption. A new generation of intelligent shredding equipment, characterized by intelligence and high efficiency, is gradually replacing traditional extensive machinery, generally employing a low-speed, high-torque shearing principle. Some four-shaft shredders are equipped with intelligent monitoring systems that can monitor the equipment's operating status in real time and automatically execute reverse protection programs. Twin-shaft shredders generate shearing, tearing, and compressing actions through two sets of counter-rotating cutter shafts. The equipment should have emergency stop, forward start, and inching reverse functions.
